Stopica Cave

Forget about stalagmites, this cave complex has unique formations you won’t find elsewhere.

About

With one of the largest cave entrances in Serbia, Stopica cave’s interior is influenced by the weather. This means it isn’t rich in ‘cave jewelry’, but it does have its own unique formations. Following an underground stream, visitors move through the cave’s five sections: the Light Hall, the Dark Hall, the Great Hall with Pools, the Channel with Pools and the River Channel. Multicolored lights illuminate rare ‘bigren’ tubs filled with water, a sipar arch known as the ‘Dog’s cemetery’, and a 9 m tall waterfall called the ‘Source of Life’.
