Tempurung Cave

Winding nearly 3 kilometers through limestone hills, and filled with cavernous chambers, Tempurung Cave is one of the largest in Malaysia. A series of stairs and walkways have been installed in part of the cave, treating visitors to colorfully illuminated ornamentation like stalagmites and stalactites, which differ in each area. A wide variety of troglodytes call the cave home, so keep your eyes peeled for bats, strange insects, and even fish and shrimp! The cave offers several tour options, from a pleasant underground walk to a demanding spelunking expedition that will have visitors wiggling through cracks and crawling through the cave’s river (these need to be arranged in advance).
