Find out just how fun wine tastings can be at this fuss-free, award-winning winery.
Like any great story, the award-winning Tobin James Cellars had a humble beginning. Back in 1987, a young Toby James was working as an assistant winemaker when he asked the winery he was working for if he could try making his own wine from the 6 tons of grapes they couldn’t process. A year and a half later, Toby began receiving gold medals for his first Zinfandel. By 1994, Toby had scraped together enough money to buy his own plot of land and open his own winery and tasting room. Though Tobin James Cellars has added a few more awards to the mantle, they’ve still got that no-fuss attitude. The tasting room is styled after an Old West saloon (complete with authentic 19th century bar), and the servers are knowledgeable and friendly. This cowboy spirit has earned the winery rabid fans, so be sure to make reservations well in advance at www.tobinjames.com
