Namibia
Road signs in the dusty Namibian desert mark the southernmost point the sun can still shine from directly overhead.
The Tropic of Capricorn is one of the five major circles of latitude on maps of the earth - the most famous of course being the equator. It’s here that the sun shines directly overhead during the December solstice - any further south and it doesn’t get that high in the sky. While the signs aren’t quite accurate thanks to variations in the the earth’s rotation (the Tropic of Capricorn is moving northward by about 15 meters per year), the signs’ convenient position along the road makes for a fun photo op.
