It's said water sprung forth from this dried well after the Prophet Muhammad spit in it.
Located in Asfan, along the route connecting the Islamic hubs of Makkah and Madinah, Tuflah Well stands as a testament to history's embrace. It's recounted that the Prophet traversed this well renowned for its copious water supply during his journey to Mecca at the culmination of the Treaty of Hudaybiyah, but when he and his 1400 companions arrived, the well was dry. It's said that Mohammed spit into the well after which the waters resumed flowing, thus the well's name (tuflah translates to spittle). This well has drawn pilgrims from distant shores, especially from India, Turkey, and Indonesia, who seek its reputed curative properties for chronic ailments. Alongside Asfan Fort and Qasr Al Ramz, Tuflah Well is one of the three historical treasures near Jeddah. An intriguing blend of history and spirituality, Tuflah Well offers a remarkable glimpse into the past and serves as a testament to the enduring heritage of the region.
