Bulgaria
Step into the life of Bulgaria’s national hero.
In 1837, Vasil Levski was born in this sleepy village. The man would go on to lead the Bulgarian Resistance against the Ottoman occupation, and be hung for his actions. To this day, many Bulgarians consider him the greatest figure in their country's long history. In 1937, his home was transformed into a museum dedicated to the ‘Apostle of Freedom’. Today, the large collection of items, documents, and photos give an intimate look into the life of this national hero.
