Velka amerika is a breathtaking limestone quarry 2,500 feet long, 500 feet wide and 250 feet deep with a 60 feet deep lake at the bottom. Visitors wishing to experience a taste of real Czech countryside will appreciate this smaller but no less impressive Czech version of the Grand Canyon, which is perfect for a stop-by. The shimmering waters of the lake and the vivid colors reflecting on to the limestone create the first breathtaking impression of this man-made marvel. The area is easy to navigate with footpaths clearly marked and when walking slowly takes approximately one hour to make your way around the whole of the quarry.
