Bermuda
Discover this impeccably preserved Georgian-style mansion that offers a captivating glimpse into Bermuda’s past and now functions as a fascinating museum.
Verdmont Historic House and Gardens stand as a testament to time, allowing you to step back into history and explore its original parlors, drawing rooms, and bedrooms adorned with period furniture crafted from Bermuda cedar. Constructed around 1710 and maintained as a private dwelling until 1951, it has since been in the possession of the Bermuda National Trust, and boasts extraordinary craftsmanship. Admire the collection of portraits by former resident John Green and exquisite English and Chinese porcelain. As you traverse its rooms, you'll encounter the craftsmanship of antique cedar and mahogany furniture, and even discover a preserved 19th-century wedding dress. The children’s playroom takes you back in time with authentic furniture and toys. The museum's gardens are more than just a serene backdrop—they offer panoramic ocean views and transport you to an era where the flora and fauna reflect the aesthetics of 18th-century Bermuda. Open on Fridays from 11AM to 2PM and Saturdays from 10AM to 2PM. Photos by JERRYE AND ROY KLOTZ MD, CC BY-SA 3.0 <https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0>, via Wikimedia Commons
