Victoria State Rose Garden

The the official rose garden of the "Garden State" was the first outside Europe to receive the International Garden of Excellence award.

About

The first roses of the Victoria State Rose Garden were planted in 1981 after gaining planning permission to create a public garden. The attraction, located in Werribee, is a volunteer-run public garden filled with more than 5,000 beautiful roses in a range of glorious colours. The floral displays span 5 hectares and are divided into more than 500 types of rose. The Aspirin rose is a crisp white colour with tinges of pink in the delicate petals. The Brass Band is reminiscent of Spring with its clusters of orange and yellow buds and bright green foliage. The Maxi Vita is a beautiful bright pink with hints of orange, and these are just a few examples of the floral delights you can expect to see during your visit to the Rose Garden. The main display and focal point within the garden is a radiant collection of roses in the shape of the famous Tudor Rose.
