Experience the beauty of Vøringfossen, one of the highest waterfalls in Europe with a free fall of 145 meters. Formed by the Måbøelvi river, the waterfall flows through a valley before cascading over a cliff’s edge and plummeting down below. Atop the waterfall is the Fossili Hotel, built in 1880 in Art Nouveau style by architect Frederik Konow Lund, where you can enjoy a meal or drink at the on-site restaurant. From this vantage point, observe the stunning panoramic views of the waterfall and surrounding landscape, or head to the modern and newly renovated viewpoint at the waterfall’s base. In addition to viewing the waterfall, you can also explore the surrounding area through hiking trails that take you through the valley and up to the waterfall.
