Take in the beauty of New York from atop the world's longest pedestrian bridge.
The Walkway Over the Hudson began as a railway bridge that served as one of the most direct rail routes between the Industrial northeast and the midwest. Spanning 6,768 feet, 212 feet above the Hudson, its multi-span cantilever truss design was an engineering marvel when it was built in 1889. However, as New England's industry fell into decline in the 1950s, the bridge began to fall into disrepair. That is, until locals banded together to save the monument. After millions of dollars in repairs, it was transformed into the Walkway Over the Hudson historic park. Take a glass elevator up to the walkway for unobstructed views up and down the Hudson. It’s especially great for foliage watching!
