Wat Ao Noi

Constructed from exotic teak wood and intricately carved, this temple is made even better by the fabulous sea views and cave temple nearby.

About

Built entirely of golden teak, the Wat Ao Noi temple is a stunning chapel with an even more astounding price tag. The exotic wood is exquisitely carved and guarded by two vibrantly painted Nagas. Inside visitors will find hand-painted bas-relief murals telling the Buddhist stories surrounding the image of a Buddha. Nearby, a stairway leads to Tham Phra Non, a cave temple with two resplendent reclining Buddhas. Fabulous views of the sea make the 10-15 minutes climb to the cave even more worthwhile. Please note: as an active temple, appropriate dress is required to go inside.
