Wildlife Alliance Park

Part of a global effort, this sprawling park rescues and rehabilitates Cambodia’s threatened wildlife.

About

The Wildlife Alliance Park in Phnom Tamao works with the Cambodian government to help save South East Asia’s wildlife from its greatest threats, with traditional medicine and the exotic pet trade topping the list. This safe space allows rescue animals to receive medical treatment and be rehabilitated before being released back into their natural habitat. While much of the park is ranger-patrolled forest, the accessible areas allow visitors to meet many rescued animals, including baby monkeys, half-breed tigers, and the park’s poster-child, Chouk the elephant who received a custom-made prosthetic leg after losing hers to an infection from a poacher’s trap. True animal lovers can even schedule a full-day, behind-the-scenes experience which allows access to areas normally closed for a more personal interaction with the animals and their keepers.
