Zealong Tea Estate began with a single camellia tree, and since then has blossomed into New Zealand’s first commercial tea estate - which just happens to produce 100% organic. award winning tea. On a guided tour, you’ll follow the rich history and culture of tea as you walk through the scenic landscape, see how the tea is picked and processed, and learn how tea came to New Zealand. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a ceremonial tea tasting, where you’ll be guided through the art of tea appreciation and learn how to savor the appearance, aroma, and taste. If you’re so inclined, you can also take Signature High Tea at the Tea House overlooking the Estate. Of course, you can also just relax with some tea and cake and gaze out over the gorgeous property, and pick up some tea to take with you at the gift shop.
