Ford’s principles of mass production, Baťa set about applying the same principles to shoe production. The result of this was the global empire that is known throughout the world today. The full story of Baťa’s incredible rise to fame is told in the 14/15 Baťa Institute, the museum dedicated to the man’s achievements and principles. Walk through the museum and see how Baťa's shoe-making business developed and the remarkable things he and his family did for his employees and for the city. The museum is located in the reconstructed buildings of the former Baťa factory, which only adds to the authenticity. No visit should be complete without touring ‘Building 32’, which houses Baťa's famous ‘office in an elevator’ along with a sight-seeing deck and a café.
