A car trip from Hallstatt to Vienna will whisk you away, giving you front-row seats to the dreamy mountain landscape.

About Vienna
Vienna is Austria's capital and largest city and is well known for its historical, cultural, and charming appeal. Those historic charms and grand architecture date back to the 17th century when Vienna was the capital city of the mighty Habsburg Empire. As the seat of this mighty dynasty, Vienna became a European cultural capital. Vienna used its influence and importance for many years to enact impressive expansion and growth.
Some of the world's most famous creatives, like Wolfgang Amadeus and Gustav Klimt, called Vienna home, cementing its status as a cultural and artistic hub. Their influence β and that of other creatives β shaped Vienna into the cultural powerhouse it is today.
Vienna's status blessed it with a wealth of spectacular architectural sights, towering cathedrals, incredible museums, inviting opera houses, delectable centuries-old cafes, and staggeringly beautiful vineyards and landscapes. With all of this on offer, it's not a challenge to see why Vienna remains a popular European travel destination.
From Hallstatt to Vienna: Travel tips
Here are a few tips to ensure you have a stress-free travel experience on your trip from Hallstatt to Vienna.
Add "Oida" to your vocabulary
Adding a few Austrian words to your vocabulary is not only exciting, but it will help you not look like a tourist when visiting Austrian towns and cities. "Danke" never fails, but if we can recommend only one word you should learn, it's 'Oida.'
This word will help you blend in with the locals since it's often used for nearly anything. For example, you can say 'Oida' when surprised, when annoyed, or when speechless! Very handy indeed.
Be clear about the water you want
Everyone gets thirsty, and water is a popular choice, but if you're traveling in Austria, you need to specify what water you want.
Unlike other places in the world, Hallstatt, Vienna, and many other Austrian cities have various types of water, from mild waterβyes, you read that rightβto still and sparkling.
If you don't explicitly say which type of water you want, you're likely to be given sparkling water, and we know this type is far from everyone's favorite. So keep this in mind when buying water during your trip and when in Vienna.

SchΓΆnbrunn Palace

Why people love Daytrip

βI used this service for a transfer from Split in Croatia to Perast Montenegro. My experience was exceptional. My driver Bojan was helpful, informative and ensured my journey was comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend the service.β
βWe were extremely satisfied with the quality of service we received from Day Trip. We had two Day Trip rides on August 31 from Athens to Lefkada and September 7 from Lefkada back to Athens. Both trips included stops at scenic sites in Greece. Both drivers were excellent and accommodating. However, weβd especially like to recognize Panos Peppas, who was our driver from Lefkada to Athens. Panos was incredibly nice & pleasant and delivered outstanding customer service, which included handling all of luggage, providing us with cold waters throughout the trip, providing us protein bars, providing us with printed materials on the Corinth Canal (one of scenic stops), looking up and providing us with terminal & gate info for our flight back home and providing us with a recipe for tzatziki.β
Best transport company anywhere
βWe absolutely love this company and have used it many times over the years to get from A to B without the hassle of hiring a car ourselves. Excellent drivers every time. Efficient and professional. Itβs worth every penny and we can honestly recommend Day Trip to everyone. Itβs 5 star rating is well deserved.β
Excellent experience in traveling
βWe traveled from Nuremberg to Munich in a beautiful Audi. Driver picked us at our hotel at the exact time requested. Got us to Munich in plenty of time for our next tour. Driver made sure we were comfortableβ
Reasonably Priced and Safe Transportation
βGonzalo from daytrip was our driver and he was absolutely amazing. He went over and beyond trying to locate us as our service wasn't so good on our phones. He patiently awaited our arrival to the lobby so he could take us from Tulum Dreams Resort to our other hotel in cancun an hour and a half away near the airport prior to our departure flight home. He was polite, respectful and kind. Made sure we were comfortable during our long ride. Fast and to the point. I recommend this company as finding a one way ride from Tulum to Cancun isn't easy or cheap and this company provides a great service for a great price. I will definitely be using them again whenever I'm in the Cancun/Tulum area. Thank you DayTrip and Gonzola.β
βWe were picked up by Marianna to drive us from Heraklion to Chania. The weather was terrible & due to this Marianna arrived a few minutes late. She contacted me to advise of this. Marianna lives in Chana and she made our trip very interesting by informing us of local things to do and see in Chania. Marianna is a safe driver and we all felt comfortable with the speed she drove at and how good her driving was in heavy rain. She is a lovely person with fluent English. We highly recommend Daytrips and if you are in Heraklion or Chania please make sure you ask for Marianna.β
βUsed the service to go from Luxor to Hurghada, Egypt. Ahmed H was our driver and he was perfect. The car was new, clean, he had water and snacks for us, and accommodated our stops. Great service from him and would recommend it.β
βWe booked a one - way trip from Passau, Germany to Prague, CR. Throughout the booking, Daytrip@daytrip.com was very communicate about our trip. When our ship arrived in Passau, we waited for our car and drive. Fifteen minutes before its arrival we realized that we had scheduled the wrong date. We telephoned Daytrip and explained our error. Daytrip arranged for another car and driver and within three hours, he had arrived. THAT is customer service. Our driver, Jici, was professional and provided us with all the comfort we expected. Thank you Daytrip.β
βThis morning, 13th December 2017 we used Daytrip for our transfer from Vienna to Hallstatt. My chauffeur was Mr. Peter D. It took about 3 hours to get to Hallstatt. Mr. Peter D. arrived at our hotel in Vienna half an hour before our designated time. We knew it because He arrived right after we settled the hotel's bill. It was impressive because He's not letting the client to wait and even could depart early and the bonus was we could arrive early at Hallstatt. The transfer run smoothly and what we're really amazed was how he accompanied us until our hotel in Hallstatt which located in the center of the city, that made him to wait for our shuttle bus to depart, accompanied us until infront of the receptionist and took care of our luggage. He even paid for our shuttle bus. He's really a great and friendly chauffeur. He was trully an asset for the company. We felt like having a first class transfer. Oooo...last but not least...the car was so clean, nice, comfy and during our trip...the background music was baroque...our favorite. Overall...it was perfect in my opinion. Because actually I felt a little bit worry using a car for our transfer.β
