Namur sits at the Sambre and Meuse rivers, crowned by a fortress that has guarded this crossing for over a thousand years.
Start at Namurās citadel, with underground passages and sweeping views over the valley. Itās one of Europeās largest fortresses, and you can feel its history in the stone walls. Walk down into the old town, where 18th-century facades line the Place dāArmes. The Cathedral of St. Aubain adds Gothic charm. The FĆ©licien Rops Museum shows the daring work of Belgiumās most provocative artist. Take time to wander the cobblestone streets, browse small shops, or grab a coffee by the river. Namur balances its role as Walloniaās capital with the easy charm of a riverside town.

Dinant sits squeezed between river and cliff, watched over by a citadel and known worldwide for its music connection.
The Collegiate Church of Our Lady is the first thing youāll spot, its onion dome sitting right by the water. Above it, the citadel sits a top of sheer limestone cliffs. Take the cable car or climb the 408 steps for incredible views. Dinant celebrates its musical history with colorful saxophone sculptures scattered around town, paying tribute to Adolphe Sax, who was born here. A riverside walk shows off the townās dramatic setting. Leffe Abbey nearby nods to Belgiumās brewing tradition. The mix of nature, history, and music gives Dinant a personality all its own.
