Pamplona
Founded by Roman General Pompey in 75 BC, Pamplona prospered through the centuries, eventually establishing itself as the seat of the Kingdom of Pamplona. Today, the city’s “hamlets” have preserved its medieval origins. One of the best places to experience the city’s rich history is at the Plaza Consistorial square, which is home to the Baroque 18th century Town Hall, 13th century Gothic church, and the city’s oldest building, the 13th century Cámara de Comptos. However, the heart of the city would have to be the tree-lined castle square. Surrounded by 18th century buildings, the area is dominated by the Neo-Classical Palace of Navarre. Book a tour in advance to see the Baroque throne room, the Chapel’s altarpiece, and a portrait of King Felipe VII painted by Goya.

Logrono
The origins of the city have been associated with those of the Roman Vareia from the 1st century B.C. As such, Logroño is a steeped in history and traditions, much of which has been preserved since the Middle Ages and is still visible in the city today. The city features a number of impressive religious buildings, including the 13th-century Church of San Bartolomé, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria de la Redonda, built on a primitive temple from the 12th century. Visitors can also enjoy an array of beautiful squares and parks, and a number of museums while strolling through the narrow medieval streets of this picturesque city. Logroño has been named the Commercial City of Spain (1996), the Spanish Gastronomic Capital (2012), and the European Sports City (2014).
