Main attractions
- A 14km arc of vertical Atlantic-facing cliffs rising to 214 metres at their highest point above the Clare coastline — one of Ireland's most visited natural landmarks, the cliff edge dropping sheer to the ocean with views north to the Aran Islands, the Twelve Bens of Connemara and south to the Dingle Peninsula on clear days
- O'Brien's Tower, a 19th-century viewing turret at the highest point of the cliffs, gives the full perspective of the cliff face stretching in both directions — the scale only becomes apparent when the cliff path is walked rather than viewed from the main visitor centre
Take note
- The cliff path beyond the fenced area is unfenced and requires care — stay well back from the edge; the visitor centre, exhibition and café are well managed but the car park fills early on peak summer days; arrive before 10am or after 4pm for the most manageable crowds
- Open year round with hours varying by season.
