Know more about your day trip

Yes. The Musee de l'Annonciade is a lovely museum housed in a 16th-century chapel near the port. It holds an impressive collection of post-Impressionist and Fauve paintings, including works by Signac, Matisse, and Bonnard, many of which were inspired by the light and landscape of Saint-Tropez itself.
Saint-Tropez is surrounded by some of the French Riviera's most beautiful beaches. Plage de Pampelonne, the famous long sandy stretch about 3 miles (5 km) from town, is the most iconic. Closer to the village, smaller beaches like Plage des Graniers are easy to reach on foot.
Nice to Saint-Tropez is about 60 miles (100 km) by road, but the drive typically takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes due to the winding coastal and inland roads. Traffic can be heavier in summer, so departing early is a good strategy.
Absolutely. The shoulder seasons of spring and early fall offer some of the best conditions: the light is golden, crowds are thinner, and many restaurants and shops remain open. Summer brings glamour but also significant crowds and higher prices, so visiting in May, June, or September is often a better experience.
The Vieux Port (old harbor) and the surrounding lanes of the old town are the heart of Saint-Tropez and are best explored on foot. From there, it's a short uphill walk to the Citadelle, which offers one of the best panoramic views on the Riviera. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Saint-Tropez is relaxed during the day. Casual, stylish clothing suits the atmosphere well. If you plan to visit upscale restaurants or bars in the evening, smart-casual attire is appropriate. Beachwear is for the beach only and is not welcome in shops or restaurants in town.
Saint-Tropez enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and dry, spring and fall are warm and pleasant, and winters are mild compared to much of Europe. The sea is swimmable from June through October.
Saint-Tropez rewards a full day of exploration. Wander the old fishing port and watch the yachts, visit the Citadelle for sweeping views over the bay, browse the colorful Marche de la Place des Lices (held Tuesday and Saturday mornings), and stroll through the narrow alleyways of La Ponche quarter.
