Cape Finisterre
Waves crash against a rocky promontory capped by a 19th-century lighthouse. This dramatic scene is Cape Finisterre, the symbolic final stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. Here, dramatic scenery and ancient spiritualism create a mystical atmosphere. In medieval times, this place was called “the end of the world,” thanks to its position as the westernmost point of Europe. Explore sheltered coves and meet walkers completing their expansive Camino journey. Visitors should come prepared with warm layers, as this coastal outcrop can be very windy at times.

Santuario da Virxe da Barca
The Santuario da Virxe da Barca is an alternative endpoint to the Camino de Santiago, representing an important spiritual site. According to legend, the Virgin Mary appeared here on a stone boat before St. James. The church and its surrounding sacred stones have since been key pilgrimage destinations. Traditionally, pilgrims push the “rocking stone” (Pedra de Abalar) as part of their journey, and may pass under the “stone of kidneys” (Pedra dos Cadris), which is said to cure ailments. Around the church, visitors can explore a traditional fishing village and enjoy spectacular coastal views.
