When you drive, you can't appreciate the scenic views or stop for a refreshing Czech Pilsner beer. So let someone else do the work while you live a high life by selecting the best mode of transportation from Krakow to Vienna!

About Vienna

The drive from Krakow to Vienna will lead you to Austria's beautiful capital. Its metropolitan area has a population of almost 2.9 million residents, making it one of Europe's most populous urban centers.

Vienna lies along the Wein River in the nation's extreme northeast. Its position in central Europe, 33 miles from the Slovakian and 44 miles from the Hungarian frontiers, led to the city being a hotbed of activity throughout its history.

Early Vienna

Life in Vienna began as a Roman military camp in 15 BC. The empire named the region Vindobona. Over time, they utilized the position for the trade route between Eastern and Western Europe.

Vienna's rich history with the Habsburgs began in 1271, after the Roman Empire collapsed and after enduring two centuries under Babenberg Rule. The Ottoman Empire tried on several occasions to conquer the land until their defeat during the Battle of Vienna in 1683.

The 18th and 19th centuries were Vienna's golden age when world-renowned composers like Mozart and Beethoven added to the vibrant cultural scene. During this timeframe, architects designed lavish buildings like Schonbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace, and the Vienna State Opera House. Although air raids damaged some during World War II, specialists have restored them to their former glory.

Modern Vienna

Vienna is one of the most captivating cities of the 21st century. Glamorous white bricks flow through the city, from its Art Nouveau buildings to its majestic palace-lined avenues. There's a scene of style and sophistication wherever you walk, most notably along Graben Street, where designer brands and restaurants worthy of Michelin star status reside.

Surprisingly, you can feel so close to nature in such a sizable city. Experts have crowned Vienna the world's greenest city. The Vienna Ring Road, a 3.3-mile-long circular grand boulevard, sits just a stone's throw from the shopping district. Yet its tree-lined roads and leafy walkways make you feel like you've ventured past the suburbs.

I wish I could use DayTrips everywhere!

We absolutely loved this service!! We had a driver from Krakow to Vienna (Michal) and he was THE BEST! We would totally recommend him and your company again. I was SO GRATEFUL that your company exists - otherwise we would have been miserable flying with a layover or taking a bus or a train overnight. With your service we were able to make stops along the way and see beautiful sights in the Czech Republic before arriving in Vienna. Michal gave us information along the way (but not too much - he let us set the pace) and stops when we needed them. We were very comfortable in the van. I cannot say enough good things about our experience.

From Krakow to Vienna

Not finding any train connections between Krakow, Poland and Vienna, Austria that made sense (i.e., a reasonable amount of time), I was lucky enough to find Daytrip. They arranged for a pleasant driver to take us, it was reasonably priced, and took about 5 hours. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this company.

Private Transfer from Krakow to Vienna

We were a group of 4 adults travelling around Europe for a month and wanted to experience as many modes of transport possible. We used flights, hire car, trains and buses and our experience with DayTrip was one of the best. Our driver, Michal W, was wonderful. He picked us up on time from our apartment in Krakow in a nice clean Citron Van. We took the option of stopping at Lidnice Chateau which really helped to break up the journey and was worth a stroll around the garden. We also had lunch at a great little burger place (not a fast food chain) near the castle. Michal was very pleasant and it felt like we were getting a lift with a friend. He was very professional and a great driver. We would not hesitate to use DayTrip again especially if all their drivers are like Michal.

Daytrip from Vienna to Krakow (Stanislaw G)

This was our first use of Daytrip trip to go from Vienna to Krakow and it was excellent - our driver Stanislaw G. was great. I found the booking process pretty good from what i remember - all pretty smooth and complete. "Stas" turned up right on time and packed the car very efficiently and quickly - we had a lot of luggage and were happy he fit it all in very well. The car was in very good condition (BMW 3 Grand Turismo) and Stas was well dressed and groomed. There was water in the car for us which we appreciated. Stas drove very well and we made good time. He knew the route well and suggested stopping at Prostejov for lunch and good clean toilets. From there we made it to Auschwitz-Birkenau by about 2pm. The weather was overcast, cold and raining on and off. Stas had umbrellas for us and offered to come with us and provide some history. We did very much appreciate him joining us as he gave us a very personal perspective. We arrived in Krakow and got to our hotel by 6pm about when we expected. It was great that Stas was a local as our hotel was in Old Town and you really need local knowledge to find your way around. So we had a very positive first experience of using Daytrip and Stanislaw G set a very high benchmark for our future drivers.

Best Travel Decision Ever!

Initially I was somewhat apprehensive about using Daytrip to get from Vienna to Krakow. I was traveling by myself and thought that it could be a long trip in a stranger’s car. But I very much wanted to try to find my grandmother’s grave in a small village in Slovakia along the way. My options were very limited since I did not want to rent a car on my own. After reading the Daytrip reviews, I decided to give it a try. I was thrilled with the service I received and the entire experience exceeded my expectations! I was picked up at my hotel in Vienna by Michal, a resident of Krakow. Michal could not have been a partner in my trip to find where my grandmother was buried. He had obviously done his homework before we left and drove right to the village. After about 10 minutes we found the gravesite and a goal of mine for over 40 years had been achieved! I received a great deal of information about Krakow on the way which really enhanced my experience in that beautiful city. I was thrilled when Michal was the driver scheduled to take me back to Vienna several days later. We stopped in Auschwitz along the way and Michal was able to help me time everything perfectly. I can’t recommend Daytrip enough. Michal definitely made the experience one to remember and my quick vacation from Vienna would not have been the same without his assistance and recommendations. In addition, this service takes so much stress out of travel: no security lines, no delayed flights, no sitting around an airport or train station, no waiting for luggage to arrive. The reduction of stress alone is worth cost. I plan to use Daytrip on future trips to Europe and am very grateful that this type of company exists! This was the best travel decision I could have made.

Central Europe

We visited Central Europe this June and had booked through Daytrip all the transfers. It is very smooth and comfortable to book and pay online. The additional recommended stops were the highlight of the trip. We had a great and comfortable ride with all the drivers, each one of them was very informative and knowledgeable. Not only did they impart factual knowledge but some of them shared interesting stories about themselves, town or country. Very professional and organised. For example, Stan from Krakow to Vienna got from us home grown fruits, home made savouries and lemonade. Even Milan from Zagreb to Vienna got for us some snacks, very thoughtful. All the drivers tried to park the car as close to the hotel, where not allowed and helped us with our luggage till the hotel. Excellent service at a great price is provided by your company, thank you and please keep it up!. We will surely and always take your services when we visit Europe. 200% recommended.
