Know more about your day trip

The best time to visit Dubai is December through February when temperatures are in the 60s°F (15-20°C). Summer months from June to September can reach mid-40s°C (110°F+). Shoulder seasons like May and September offer moderate heat with fewer crowds. Dubai offers year-round attractions with extensive indoor facilities during hot weather.

The UAE uses the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED), abbreviated as Dh. Major credit cards are widely accepted, but carry cash for traditional souks and smaller shops. ATMs are readily available throughout Dubai.

Arabic is the official language, but English is widely spoken and understood throughout Dubai. The city's international population means you'll hear many languages including Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, and Russian. English is the business language and most signs, menus, and tourist information are available in both Arabic and English.

Popular day trips include Al Ain oasis city, Dhayah Fort in Ras Al Khaimah, the mountain town of Hatta, and Mleiha Archaeological Centre with Al Noor Mosque. These destinations showcase the UAE's cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and historical sites, offering experiences beyond Dubai's urban attractions.

Dubai is cosmopolitan and accepting of various dress styles, but modest clothing is appreciated, especially in traditional neighborhoods and religious sites. Swimwear is appropriate at beaches and pools but not in business districts or malls. For mosque visits, cover shoulders, arms, and legs, with headscarves required for women.

Dubai follows Islamic customs, so public displays of affection should be minimal. The legal drinking age is 21, and alcohol is only served in licensed venues like hotels and clubs. During Ramadan, avoid eating or drinking in public during daylight hours. Photography of people requires permission, especially for local women.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the main airport, located about 8.5 miles (13 km) from downtown Dubai. Dubai World Central (DWC) is the second airport. Both offer comprehensive facilities including money exchange, taxis, car rentals, and the Dubai Metro connects DXB to major city areas including Burj Khalifa.

Dubai combines ultra-modern architecture with traditional Arabian culture, featuring the world's tallest building and largest shopping malls alongside historic souks and cultural sites. The city offers luxury experiences, desert adventures, pristine beaches, and a cosmopolitan dining scene representing 200+ nationalities, making it a unique global destination.
