Yes! Book a private, door-to-door airport transfer with a local English-speaking driver. Enjoy fixed and transparent pricing, no hidden fees, and the option to pay in advance without the hassle of exchanging cash at a foreign airport.
You will receive the vehicle that best fits the number of travelers in your group, ranging from a sedan to a van for groups of up to 7. Depending where you travel, you can book anything from a sedan comparable to a Toyota Corolla to a Mercedes V-Class to a Classic Cuban Car. While the exact model may vary, we always ensure that the vehicle provided meets your needs in terms of safety, reliability, and comfort. You may be upgraded to a larger vehicle class free of charge depending on availability. Since our largest vehicle seats 7, for groups larger a combination of vehicles will be used. We will send you the exact vehicle details a few days before your trip.
Everywhere except the USA, drivers will supply appropriate child seats (just let us know during booking). In the USA, certain states require you to supply your own child seats.
Know more about traveling from Hemsedal
The drive through Hallingdal is worth treating as part of the experience rather than just transit. Gol makes a natural midpoint stop and has a well-preserved replica of the original Gol Stave Church, a snapshot of medieval Norwegian architecture. The valley scenery builds steadily as you head northwest, and the final stretch up into Hemsedal offers dramatic mountain views as the road climbs. With a Daytrip driver, you can request stops along the route without adding complexity to your journey.
Hemsedal is approximately 220 km (137 miles) from Oslo. By car, the drive takes around 3 hours under normal conditions, following the E16 through the Hallingdal valley. The route itself is part of the appeal: you pass through open valley landscapes and gain altitude as the scenery shifts from lowland farmland to proper mountain terrain. A private transfer makes the most of this drive, letting you take in the views without navigating unfamiliar roads or dealing with winter driving conditions.
A full day works well. Allow at least 5 to 6 hours on the ground to get meaningful time on the slopes, trails, or river depending on the season, plus time to grab a meal in the village. Factor in roughly 3 hours each way for the drive from Oslo. If you are coming from Bergen, the distance is around 270 km (168 miles) and the drive takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. Starting early gives you the most flexibility, particularly in winter when lift queues are shorter in the morning.
More than you might expect from a single day. In winter, the priority for most visitors is the ski area: 53 slopes, 21 lifts, and 810 meters of vertical drop across three peaks. Non-skiers have strong options too, including dog sledding, snowshoeing, and ice climbing. In summer, hiking to peaks like Skogshorn and Kyrkjebønnose offers rewarding summit views without requiring technical climbing, while mountain biking and canoeing on the Hemsila river are popular alternatives. The village itself is compact, making it easy to move between activities without losing time.
The practical case is strong, especially in winter. The mountain roads leading into Hemsedal can be challenging in icy or snowy conditions, and navigating them in an unfamiliar rental car adds stress to what should be a relaxing trip. A private transfer means a professional local driver handles the road while you arrive rested and ready. There is no parking to find, no return journey to stay sober for, and no compromise on luggage or ski gear. You set the schedule, choose your pickup point, and travel directly without shared stops or detours.

So, so happy I stumbled upon this website to book two private transports while visiting Lima, Peru. They were both one-way trips approximately 3 hours in length. Great communication as soon as everything was booked via email and I then downloaded their app. I had a few issues with the app and the customer service was awesome trying to assist me in getting it corrected. Honestly impressive customer service which gave you a positive feeling that you made the right choice. Both drivers were right on time - No issues whatsoever! Can't say enough about the service and ease of everything when travelling so far away. Great job to the daytrip team! Would strongly recommend.
