Yes! Book a private, door-to-door airport transfer with a local English-speaking driver. Enjoy fixed and transparent pricing, no hidden fees, and the option to pay in advance without the hassle of exchanging cash at a foreign airport.
You will receive the vehicle that best fits the number of travelers in your group, ranging from a sedan to a van for groups of up to 7. Depending where you travel, you can book anything from a sedan comparable to a Toyota Corolla to a Mercedes V-Class to a Classic Cuban Car. While the exact model may vary, we always ensure that the vehicle provided meets your needs in terms of safety, reliability, and comfort. You may be upgraded to a larger vehicle class free of charge depending on availability. Since our largest vehicle seats 7, for groups larger a combination of vehicles will be used. We will send you the exact vehicle details a few days before your trip.
Everywhere except the USA, drivers will supply appropriate child seats (just let us know during booking). In the USA, certain states require you to supply your own child seats.
Know more about traveling from Otavalo
Otavalo is approximately 110 km (68 miles) north of Quito. The drive typically takes around 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic and road conditions, passing through the scenic Andean highlands along the way. A private transfer makes the trip comfortable and lets you set your own departure time rather than working around bus schedules.
A full day is ideal. Spending 5 to 6 hours in and around Otavalo gives you enough time to explore the Plaza de Ponchos, do some bargaining with vendors, and still squeeze in one or two other highlights. If markets aren't your thing, the Peguche Waterfall is a short distance from town and well worth an hour or two for a quieter, more natural experience.
Absolutely. The Museo Viviente Otavalango offers a look into the darker history of the region's textile industry, where indigenous Otavalos were once compelled to work in factory conditions. For nature lovers, the Peguche Waterfall just outside town is a scenic and peaceful spot to decompress after the hustle of the market. Day trippers with more time can also explore Lake Cuicocha, a striking crater lake in the nearby Imbabura Province.
The market specializes in handmade and mass-produced textiles, primarily wool-based goods. Expect to find clothing, fashion accessories, blankets, ponchos, wall hangings, and a wide range of colorful homewares. Bargaining is not just accepted here, it is expected. Vendors anticipate negotiation, especially when you are buying more than one item, so don't hesitate to make a counteroffer.
Saturday is the standout day to visit. While the Plaza de Ponchos hosts vendors daily, Saturday is when the market expands well beyond the main square as merchants from surrounding towns and villages set up stalls throughout the neighboring streets. The scale and energy of the Saturday market is unmatched, so if your schedule allows it, that is the day to plan your trip.
The bus from Quito gets you to Otavalo, but it drops you at a terminal and runs on a fixed schedule, which limits how long you can stay and what you can carry back. A private Daytrip transfer picks you up from your accommodation, takes you directly to Otavalo, and waits while you explore. If you want to stop at the Peguche Waterfall or another point of interest on the way, your driver can accommodate that. When you're done shopping, you leave on your timetable, not the bus company's.

So, so happy I stumbled upon this website to book two private transports while visiting Lima, Peru. They were both one-way trips approximately 3 hours in length. Great communication as soon as everything was booked via email and I then downloaded their app. I had a few issues with the app and the customer service was awesome trying to assist me in getting it corrected. Honestly impressive customer service which gave you a positive feeling that you made the right choice. Both drivers were right on time - No issues whatsoever! Can't say enough about the service and ease of everything when travelling so far away. Great job to the daytrip team! Would strongly recommend.
