Yes! Book a private, door-to-door airport transfer with a local English-speaking driver. Enjoy fixed and transparent pricing, no hidden fees, and the option to pay in advance without the hassle of exchanging cash at a foreign airport.
You will receive the vehicle that best fits the number of travelers in your group, ranging from a sedan to a van for groups of up to 7. Depending where you travel, you can book anything from a sedan comparable to a Toyota Corolla to a Mercedes V-Class to a Classic Cuban Car. While the exact model may vary, we always ensure that the vehicle provided meets your needs in terms of safety, reliability, and comfort. You may be upgraded to a larger vehicle class free of charge depending on availability. Since our largest vehicle seats 7, for groups larger a combination of vehicles will be used. We will send you the exact vehicle details a few days before your trip.
Everywhere except the USA, drivers will supply appropriate child seats (just let us know during booking). In the USA, certain states require you to supply your own child seats.
Know more about traveling from Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch sits at the gateway to the Cape Winelands, so combining it with a stop on the way there or back is straightforward. Franschhoek, another celebrated wine town, is roughly 30 km (19 miles) further into the mountains and pairs naturally with a Stellenbosch visit. Depending on your starting point, the Helshoogte Pass between the two towns is one of the most scenic drives in the Western Cape. With Daytrip, you can arrange sightseeing stops along the route so the journey itself becomes part of the experience.
Stellenbosch is approximately 50 km (31 miles) from Cape Town, making it one of the most accessible wine regions in the world. A private transfer typically takes around 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic, and you travel directly door to door without stops, transfers, or timetables to worry about. Compare that to coordinating trains and taxis, and the time you save is better spent with a glass of Pinotage in hand.
A full day is ideal and you will not run out of things to do. A good rhythm is to visit one or two wine estates in the morning when they are quieter, spend the early afternoon exploring the historic town center on foot along Dorp Street and Church Street, and finish with a long lunch or sunset tasting at an estate with mountain views. If you only have a half day, focus on the town itself and one nearby estate such as Spier, which has been making wine since 1692 and is close to Cape Town.
If you plan to visit wine estates, a private transfer is the practical choice. Public transport options are limited and do not connect conveniently to the wine farms themselves. Having a dedicated driver means you are not restricted to timetables, you can spend as long as you like at each stop, and you travel back to Cape Town comfortably without navigating roads you do not know. It also means the whole group can enjoy the tasting rather than one person staying sober to drive.
Few places in the world pack this much into a single day. Stellenbosch is South Africa's second oldest town, founded in 1679, and its oak-lined streets are framed by Cape Dutch architecture that has barely changed in centuries. Beyond the history, the region sits at the heart of the Cape Winelands, home to hundreds of wine estates producing everything from elegant Chardonnays to bold Cabernet Sauvignons. Add world-class restaurants, art galleries, and mountain scenery as a backdrop, and it is a genuinely complete day out.
The town center is compact and very walkable. Dorp Street is the oldest road in Stellenbosch and the best place to start, lined with Cape Dutch buildings, independent shops, and galleries. For wine, estates like Tokara on the Helshoogte Pass offer spectacular views alongside the tasting, while Rust en Vrede is a National Monument dating to 1780 and is particularly known for its red wines. If you want something beyond wine, Jonkershoek Nature Reserve sits less than 10 km outside town and has trails through dramatic mountain scenery.

So, so happy I stumbled upon this website to book two private transports while visiting Lima, Peru. They were both one-way trips approximately 3 hours in length. Great communication as soon as everything was booked via email and I then downloaded their app. I had a few issues with the app and the customer service was awesome trying to assist me in getting it corrected. Honestly impressive customer service which gave you a positive feeling that you made the right choice. Both drivers were right on time - No issues whatsoever! Can't say enough about the service and ease of everything when travelling so far away. Great job to the daytrip team! Would strongly recommend.
