You will have to go by different bus companies, firstly taking a bus from Liberia to Cañas, then from Cañas to Tilaran, and then from Tilaran to La Fortuna. The total journey time should take around 6 hours, excluding the transfer and wait time.

Unfortunately, the bus websites do not offer information about the ticket prices, so if you plan to travel by bus, you will have to ask at the bus station.

From Liberia to La Fortuna by plane

You can opt for a direct plane from Liberia to La Fortuna, as both cities have an airport. These flights are operated by Sansa Airlines and usually depart once a day at 12:30 PM, and a one-way ticket costs $175 (€162). The flight is just 40 minutes, but remember that you have to arrive at the airport 2 hours earlier and consider the commuting time, so it can take around 4 hours to finally reach La Fortuna.

From Liberia to La Fortuna by private plane

If you want a more luxurious and unique way to reach La Fortuna, you can opt for a private plane operated by Fly Adventure Air. “Gonzalo da Daytrip foi o nosso motorista e ele foi absolutamente incrível. Ele fez de tudo para nos encontrar, já que nosso sinal de celular não estava funcionando bem. “Marianna nos buscou para nos levar de Heraclião até Chania. O tempo estava péssimo e, por isso, Marianna chegou alguns minutos atrasada. Ela me contatou para avisar. Marianna mora em Chania e tornou nossa viagem muito interessante ao nos contar sobre atividades e lugares para ver na cidade. Marianna dirige com segurança e todos nos sentimos confortáveis com a velocidade e com a forma como ela dirigia na forte chuva. Ela é uma pessoa adorável e fala inglês fluentemente. Ótima maneira de viajar e ver algumas atrações pelo caminho

“Não sabíamos o que esperar desta viagem e reservamos da Austrália. Inicialmente, estávamos procurando uma maneira fácil de viajar de Granada para Málaga. Decidimos não desperdiçar a oportunidade de ver algo a mais no caminho. Miguel certamente superou nossas expectativas. Seu inglês era excelente (infelizmente falamos muito pouco espanhol), e ele foi muito amigável e prestativo.
