Daytrip é amado em todo o mundo. Aqui está o porquê.
The islet of Sveti Stefan is a private luxury resort and is not open to the general public. The best way to see it is from the dedicated viewpoint on the hillside road, which offers the iconic elevated photo looking down over the terracotta rooftops and crystal waters. The surrounding beaches and the nearby Praskvica Monastery are also worth a look.
Shkoder to Budva is about 75 miles (120 km) and takes roughly 1.5 hours each way via the coastal road through Montenegro. The route passes through some of the most scenic stretches of the Adriatic coast, making the drive itself a rewarding part of the experience.
Yes, Stari Grad is compact and entirely pedestrian. The stone streets are uneven in places, so comfortable shoes are a good idea. The walk from the Old Town out to Mogren Beach follows a cliffside path that takes about 10 to 15 minutes and is suitable for most fitness levels, with great views along the way.
Budva's walled Old Town, known as Stari Grad, is packed with Venetian architecture, medieval churches, and narrow stone lanes. Head up to the Citadel for panoramic views over the Adriatic. Mogren Beach is a short cliffside walk from town and offers a quieter spot for swimming away from the main resort area.
Montenegro uses the euro (EUR), even though it is not an EU member. Most restaurants, shops, and attractions in Budva accept credit and debit cards, but it is worth carrying some cash for smaller vendors, beach bars, and any boat tours you may want to book independently on the day.
Praskvica Monastery is a peaceful Serbian Orthodox complex near Sveti Stefan, dating back to the 13th century. It offers beautiful hilltop views of the coast and a quiet escape from the busier beach areas. Entry is free, and it is a short uphill walk from the roadside. Modest dress is expected inside.
Late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September) are ideal. The weather is warm and sunny, the Adriatic is perfect for swimming, and the crowds are more manageable than in peak summer. July and August bring very high temperatures and heavy visitor numbers, particularly around the beaches and Stari Grad.
The Budva Riviera is known for outstanding seafood. Look for grilled octopus, black risotto made with squid ink, and traditional salt-baked fish at waterfront restaurants. Fresh mussels and local cheeses are also popular. Most restaurants in and around Stari Grad offer a good range of Montenegrin coastal dishes.
