The Cabanas hotel features a dedicated Kids Club with supervised activities. Pilanesberg National Park is also a memorable and safe safari experience for families.
Yes, tipping is standard practice in South Africa and an important part of service industry income. At restaurants, a tip of around 10 to 15 percent of the bill is customary if service is not already included. Tipping game drive guides, hotel porters, and housekeeping staff is also appreciated. Sun City offers an enormous range of activities. The Valley of Waves waterpark features thrilling slides and a large wave pool. Two Gary Player-designed golf courses host international tournaments. Visitors can also enjoy zip-lining, quad biking, horse riding, jet skiing, hot-air balloon safaris over Pilanesberg, and the cultural village of Motseng, which celebrates South African traditions through music and storytelling.

For the resort, pack light summer clothing, swimwear, and sun protection, as the sun is strong year-round. For game drives in Pilanesberg, bring neutral-colored clothing in khaki, olive, or brown tones, as bright colors can startle wildlife. A good camera with a zoom lens, binoculars, a sun hat, and insect repellent are all highly recommended. Evenings can be cool in winter, so a warm layer is useful.
Pilanesberg National Park, located right next to the resort, is home to the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. It is also one of the few reserves in South Africa that is completely malaria-free, making it ideal for families and visitors who want a wildlife experience without health concerns.
